Chile

-Annual visit to the street market every friday. This week a man selling shoes took my shoes off and placed the shoes he was selling on my feet without my permission. Not too bad of a selling tactic.

Funny

-On our preperation day we ran into like ten nuns who were just casually going about their day buying groceries, walking the town and eating hot dogs. After seeing so many nuns hermana cutler turns to me and says, Ïs it the nuns preperation day too?”

-Winning a less active members heart by playing pokemon go with his kids and him for a hot minute in the park.

-A drunk chilean approached us got down on his knees, kissed my hand and started crying because Chile beat Argentina in soccer.

Spiritual

• Paula is a less active member that we met who is ANIMATED to feel Gods love again in her life. I have never met anyone who has so much anticipation to read the book of mormon and to readily feel the peace that comes from it! Can we all just be Paula? She rocks my world.
• -We passed by Ilmari's house (reference from the open doors temple in Conception) and we said, “we should call him to see how he is doing.”and right then and there we crossed paths with him in the street! He was so excited to see us and tell us that he had just read 3^rd Nephi 11 and is going to read it again and go on a fast with his girlfriend to be more in tune with the spirit! LIKE WHAT. It was so so awesome to see that he is progressing even when we arent teaching him!
• - We found a 13 year old columbian boy this week who is just a total stud. We taught him the restoration today and it really clicked for him! He says to us, “There has to be a good reason why you two left everything behind and traveled all this way to share this message. I wanna know if its true. Im going to read this book and pray.”Please do. 
• -A less active member invited her friend over to meet us! This friend has other friends that are members who have shared so much with her! She tells us, Ïve never been to your church but I heard one of your apostles speeches and it gave me so much peace.”Thank you to all the brave members who arent afraid to give their light to those who are in the dark! 
• -Seeing our friend Andre from New York completely change. When we first met him, he wouldnt come out of his room. Now, he fights us to say the prayer. Today in his prayer he says, “Dear God, Im a little sad that the missionaries friends (members in the ward) couldnt do the family home evening but im happy to share this moment with them.”We talked about the 10 commandments tonight and before we asked him to live them he says, Ïm going to live these! Im going to write them down in a different way so that I understand them and put them on the wall to remember to live them everyday.”He has seriously changed so much, it has blown my mind. 
• -Eriazar is the first haitian I have ever met who UNDERSTANDS the restoration of the gospel. ALSO, we randomly decided to pass by for his house today and the conversation led perfectly into the book of mormon. It was the ONE DAY we werent carrying around a book of mormon in creol and he tells us, Öh wait I think I have one of those books, its my cousins.”AN ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS. He then pulls out three bibles and tells us that he loves to read it but wants so badly to know which church will be the church of Jesus Christ in the end. During this whole appointment he had been wearing a velvet blue suit jacket without anything under, he looked so fresh. At the end we slip in the, Äre you going to be wearing that new velvet coat to church this sunday with us?”and he was like, “heck yeah.”I love Eriazar's PURE DESIRE TO KNOW
• JOYS
• -Chileans dont smile very much. So we left the house with the goal to give every chilean a good big cheesy smile. 9 times out of the ten it worked!
• -We went out with our zone to do a service! We picked the weeds outside of people houses and along the streets. It was really cute because one by one, the chileans started to leave their houses and start working on their yards too!
• -Seeing Jose after his baptism wearing a tshirt with a big picture of Jesus on it. Highlight.
• -Hugged by a boy for the first time in a year. He was dressed like a clown and I couldnt escape it. Pics down below.
• -Being the companion of Hermana Cutler.
  Spotlight:
• Someone who really stuck out to me this week was a new family in our ward that just moved here from Venezuela. The family Canizales has about 4 months in Chile. Im sure you all know what is going on in Venezuela, everytime I hear about what the venezuelens have gone through or are still going through my heart breaks. They are sometimes without food, electricity, and their only safe haven is when they go to church on sunday. Right when brother Canizales,the dad, got released as stake president he moved here with just a suitcase, he got here and had no where to stay. They prefferred not to tell us that part of their story because it was so terrible. A few months later the mom and three daughters got here and have all had to start from ground zero. Their professions they once had are long gone, their friends are still in venezuela, and their extended family has been split apart and are all living in different countries. As we shared with them, Mosiah 23:21-22 came to our rememberance, “...the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith. -whosever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last day.”When faced with trials, asking “why me?”never takes away the hard thing, but as we put our confidence in Jesus Christ and give ourselves to Heavenly Father we will not only be lifted up in the last day but will also be blessed the moment we start to put our trust in Him. I love the family Canizales and I am so grateful for their faith. It strengthens mine! When we have no where else to turn, turn to HIM because He was never turned away from you.

JOSE IS THE MAN October 24, 2018

HEY EVERYONE!

JOSE GOT BAPTIZED!!! Let me tell you a little something about Jose. He is a dad of two kids whom he left in Venezuela to come to Chile and work to send money back to them and his wife. He had always been really angry with God but on his 12 day bus ride over to Chile, he thought and prayed a lot. He asked God that if He really did exist if He would just give him a sign. The first day he got to Chile, the missionaries knocked on his door and told him exactlty him something that really penetrated his heart. He felt in that moment that God really did exist and and that He had never left his side. He had tooked the lessons got to the baptism interview and then backed out because he didnt feel ready. We kept visiting him and he always told us, "Just be patient sisters." Well flashforward to two weeks back when out of the blue Jose anounces his big news by writing on a little paper "BAPTISM" and passing it to us! His baptism was really special. He got up and bore his testimony after and it was really sweet to hear him say that without a doubt that all of the things he learned are true. Im thankful for the role of the holy ghost that played a huge part in his conversion and Im thankful for the opportunity to have seen the countenance/ light just completely emerge out of him.

Also, we taught a family about the plan of salvation and when we were teaching about the kingdoms of glory we asked them where they wanted to live the oldest daughter says, "to be honest, I would want to live in the middle kingdom because thats where all of my friends and family will be." I have never heard someone pick another kingdom besides the celestial kingdom but it was so interesting that she said that. It made total sense too! It was kinda interesting that she viewed the kingdoms of glory like some kind of frat. But I think the question is are we willing to put God in the first place and priority in our lives? Think about what your circumstances are in your life right now and ask yourself, "Do I really love God more than my own family and friends?" If its kind of a hard question to answer, it doesnt matter where we are on the path, as long as we are on it and striving to move forward!

I love you all so much. You all inspire me and strengthen my testimony so much! Keep moving forward!! LOVES

Excerpts from Sarah's Diary - October 24, 2018

Maybe if you guys are interested I can send only you two a diary of my day to day life and a shorter mass email every week. Lol. I think you guys are the only ones who read my emails anyways!

Wednesday:

As missionaries, we go to ward council. It is actually one of my favorite parts of the week because I love seeing the ward leaders work together to strengthen the ward and work out problems. They also give us a lot of time to talk about our investigaters too. Super interesting, the topics they pick to discuss. Tonight an issue came up about whether the pregnant women should have to be assigned to do clean the church. After comments from every leader, the result is that they should ask the pregnant women if they would like to participate. All I could think about was Amy on that exercise routine and gnarly diet when she was pregnant and Kristi wake boarding when she was pregnant. Maybe they are just dont have the Pulsipher strength in them. But I really do love this ward a ton. When I go to church, I feel like I am with my second family!

Thursday

Ive been really focusing and consecrating my thoughts (or at least trying to) and I can really feel the power of God more presence in our day. The other night we were knocking doors looking for someone and we mistaked the door for another person and were able to meet Elisa. A really nice woman who told us to come back the next day when she want busy. So we did just that. We went by today and it was almost miraculous how easy we entered her house and one by one her daughters started to leave their rooms to talk with us and the three of them just sat there and stared at us for a really long time, asking us about a million questions and paying close attention to our responses. I bonded with one of the daughters Carolina, who is studying dentistry right now (24 years old) and the other Fernanda (18 years old) sat there so intently engaged in the conversation. The three of them (mom and two daughters) had a different light about them. The mom who is a school teacher, talked to us about how different children are now a days and how down hill things are going in the family. I felt a really sweet spirit being able to testify of the families that are centered in the gospel of Jesus Christ and of the values that His church teaches the kids, youth, and adults in a constantly changing world. They were quick to allow us to come back and share about why this is the true restored church of Jesus Christ. The only bad part about the lesson was when Hermana Cutler told them that she thought Chile was a really REALLY poor country before she came here. Chileans take huge offense to this, she says, “No but like I thought Chile was really really poor, like Ecuador.”Ooooh I felt real bad for her I tried to save the comment but it didnt go so well. She only said it because we had recently just looked out a photobook of an inactive member that served in ecuador like 50 years ago and it was super humble. Its gotta be just as established as Chile in Ecuador.

Its kind of funny because we had just come from a terrible appointment. We had brought a haitian investigater Jackson that was reciently getting to know the church to the house of a haitian couple who are investigaters and are ready to get baptized, they just need to get married. We started to teach the lesson, ask questions, and Jackson was not paying attention. We put on the restoration in french (his native language), he didnt even look at the screen. Bekens and his girlfriend (the other firm haitions in the gospel that are being taught right now) bore their testimonies and this guy STILL WASNT PAYING ATTENTION! It made me so mad because he had been so receptive just a few moments prior to this lesson. I pictured this guy getting dunked in the baptisimal font. Anyways, to top it off this guy jackson stands up and starts yelling his beliefs in our and bekens and andinas faces. Saying, Ï DONT BELIEVE IN RELIGIONS, MY BODY IS MY CHURCH! JESUS CHRIST IS IN ME, I AM A PROFET!”Like dude what? Bekens and Andina start to LAUGH at this guy and Jackson goes on preaching to us for about 20 minutes. No one could shut this guy down. Pero bueno. Asi es la mision a veces.

Friday

The perfect word to describe today would be tranquilo. Everything just worked out really nice today. With every one of our appointments we basically arrived at their house the same time they were arriving. But something I especially liked was that we kneeled down in prayer with everyone that we taught today. Everytime we kneeled down in prayer with them I felt like I was kneeling down in prayer with my family back home. It was really special. I really love to just love our investigaters. When people have desire to know God or change their ways, it is so easy for me to have charity for them. But something that Im not so good at is having love for others who dont try to understand what we teach, dont do their part when we leave their house, or people who just kind of lead us on. Its hard to tell if its the spirit telling me its not their time or Satan disanimating me trying to get me to not work as hard on those people. I love Cutler a ton, but we have our problems too. But I continue to love her and not hold resentment for our open communication. Right after we leave lessons we are able to openly communicate about what we need to work on when we teach together. She really understands the gospel and loves to share every part, but sometimes she forgets that we are a companionship. I tend to forget to back her up on explaining something when it doesnt sit clear or finding a word in spanish. There is so much I lack, and so much I want to improve but Ive been so thankful for my companions and everything they have taught me and helped me to overcome my weaknesses!Note to self: communication and wanting the best for others are the keys in relationships.

Saturday

Today one of the highlights of my day was seeing Linda's nose. We visited a less active peruvian today and she had the exact same nose as mom!! The conversation stopped for a brief moment and I say to her, “You have the exact same nose as my mom.”and she tells me, Öh really? I seemed to notice you were staring at me weird.”That peruvian is really cute and so is my momma back home and im excited to see Linda's nose in 6 months.

The other highlight of my day was visiting Benjamin. He is a less acive member that is seperated his wife (temple marriage) and has lost all hope in his life. His wife removed her papers from the church, has so much hate in her heart for Benjamin, and teaches her kids that God is an elephant with 8 legs. Not even joking. How do you get to that point in your life? Youve had the spirit testify to you a million times in your life and you get to a point where you believe in an elephant God. I read in the BOM today a verse about people who are baptized and then fall away from the church harden their hearts 100x more than others who havent heard the gospel at all. Im definitely going to ask president for more clarity on that and how we can achieve getting to their hearts and softening them. But with Benjamin today we taught him the hope that Jesus Christ gives us and to experiment just a little bit of faith. At the end, we knelt down with him and his kids and he whispered in his little sons ear as he repeated the prayer. It has been awesome to already see the little changes in him.

Sunday

I really love this ward. A ton. Heavenly Father has blessed us with so much “success”here. We have helped the members and established confidence and friendships. The ward council gives us half of the ward council meeting to talk about missionary work and our investiagters and we are finding so many amazing people to teach everyday. Today Jose had his baptisimal interview and passed! He was so cute, I always get really excited for him and he always makes fun of me for smiling super big and waving my arms in the air for his baptism. He is a really awesome guy. We are super excited for his baptism!You know it was a good week when you feel like your legs are going to fall off. Im dead tired. Its my second change with Cutler but we are bringing the energy to this sector.

Benny the asian came to church again today and he is the sweetest guy ever!! We shared a hymn book and every time I looked away from it he guided me back to where we were singing with his finger. Also, when Cutler got up to bear her testimony he took out his phone and started snapping pics of her like he was a proud dad. I wonder if thats a problem in the churches in China because asians love to take pictures of everything.

Monday

Today I was very sassy. I love the second change with the second companion because the real personalities always come out. But my reasoning as to why I was sassy was because we were fasting and in the zone meeting they passed out shishcabobs and kettle corn and it was 12:00 in the afternoon so I asked Cutler if we could end the fast and she said no. It wasnt that big of a deal but I was really hungry and didnt see the point in waiting one more hour until lunch. In the end, I saw her reason. She is so dilligent in being exactly obedient and it is something I need to learn from her. Dont get me wrong, I love being obedient but there is the letter of the law and the spirit of the law (thanks garebear) and It has been hard to find a balance of that with each companion.

But today we taught a peruvian family about the restoration of the gospel and they actually understood that the church of Jesus Christ is the only church with the priestood!!I think we finally found a way to teach others in a way that they really understand the importance of the message. Obviously there are prepared people who are going to open their hearts and have a better understanding but this family started out only believing in God and not religions but THEY ACCEPTED A BAPTISIMAL DATE BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTOOD THE PRIESTHOOD! I think the two things that I have loved the most in the mission are when people understand the importance of this message and when families unite and progress into becoming an eternal one.

Another highlight of the day was going to our recent convert Rodrigos house and setting a date to meet back with his mom! She is going to come to the baptism this week and church, and then we are going to talk in her room with her, just us GIRLS. This is why I think I stayed in Parque this change. I love this family so much and I have so much faith that they are going to continue to progress one by one!

I love my Heavenly Father so much. I am nothing without him. I am so thankful for all that He has blessed us with here, this is without a doubt His work. I have always heard people say that but now I REALLY understand what it means. By listening to the spirit only He can put people in our path, only He can put the right words in our mouths, only He can give us some of the love He has for His children so that we might love these stubborn chileans too. This guy yesterday came up to us and was SO rude. He kept dominating the conversation, and defintiely got His point across after the 5th time he said to us, Ï will raise my family in my own way, they are fine without your church!”Like chill due all we said to you was Hi. After passing him a card and telling him he is always welcome to come to church anytime, I thought I was going to walk away super angry, but I actually felt a lot of peace and hope that He would find his way back to the Savior. I really love how much peace the gosepl brings to our lives. With the knowledge of the plan and love for our Savior, we dont feel the need to hold hate in our heart, or hold grudges against others.

Tuesday

Good day. Ate a lot of food. Pancakes, subway, chocolate chip cookies, lemon pie, sopaipillas, and pancakes again.

We went to go see a peruvian woman who has been taking lessons from us and had SO MUCH DESIRE to know which chruch was the true church. Literally, the most desire I have ever seen in someone. We went to her house 2 times every week, planned for lessons with her, taught her, and prayed for her tons. But she never did anything. Never prayed, never read, and never came to church. So many excuses my gosh but we tried our very best to help her. Today she killed us. She told us that she is going to just baptize her kids in the Catholic church. She knows nothing about the Catholic church... I was so confused and so upset with the whole situation. Faith in Jesus Christ is the first principle in the gospel but if you never put it into action, what is your faith good for? That is something that has been really clear for me here in the mission. A lot of people here have faith but what are they doing right now in their lives to help that little seed of faith grow and become something greater and more useful.

Wednesday

It was Darianna Rincons birthday! All of the missionaries who have taught this family plus their companions, 20 missionaries, went over to their apartment to celebrate! Oh this family is everything for me, and its a family that just keeps giving. Their uncle is getting baptized this saturday and now the bestfriend says, [Im kind of catholic, but i want to be a mormon- member of the church.[ And they want to move to the U.S. So mi sure we will have many more of these [missionary reunions[ with their family in the future! I love venezuelans so much, they are always smiling and trying to give as much love as possible to others!

Thursday

So usually the haitians live in one big ghetto house but it is all divided so that they can have their own rooms and such. Thalie )recent convert= lives in one of these houses but the house owner is this drunk man who always steals from the haitians and asks for extra money to buy drugs. He is really terrible to them. Well, we go to Thalies today and he greets us at the door and says, [Hello, are you guys from the church in the street Magdalena Vikuna_[ and we answer, [Yes, but that church is closed right now, we assist the one in''''[ )cuts us off= and he says, [well too bad this house is closed to you guys too![ and he starts going off on us and I just say thank you and walk away in the middle of his speech. Poor Cutler stayed back trying to give him a pass along card. I had to grab her quick before this guy did anything to her. He has chased out elders with a knife before. We are usually really nice to everyone, but with this crazy, id rather not. Go Cutler!

One of our friends Bekens )haitian=, who is going to get baptized after he gets married has been taking the lessons from missionaries for one year. He had jsut helped us translate in a lesson with another haitian and on the walk home he stops us and says, [Girls, i used to go to church with all of my friends and they stopped going but ive remained faithful. I keep going because i know its true. But the only thing that saddens me is that i havent been baptized yet and that is the only thing that mi missing so that i can live with God again. My wife andina and I sleep opposite ways so that we arent tempted. I just want to get baptized sisters.[ Its the people like Bekens that keep me going out here. I just dont understand how some people have way hard lives but are so humble and the only thing that really matters to them in their life is God.

Friday

We ate dinner with a family in our ward tonight and they served us two huge steaks and a big thing of rice. Everyone was finished eating and staring at me while i started my second steak and I was taking so long that they made me wrap it up in tinfoil to go.

We were able to see Jose tonight before his baptism and I just feel so lucky and happy that I was able to be apart of his experience. Its funny how we are here to strengthen the testimonies of others but my testimony is way more strenthened by these people and seeing the changes that are taking place in them. I just really love my job here. The message we share, who we represent, and being able to have these experiences watching others CHANGE through the ATONEMENT of JESUS CHRIST. I think Heavenly Father could have had the older and wiser generation come out and do this work but I think He knew what He was doing when He called the younger and less experienced generation to do His work. I will never forget these experiences and all of the many friends, members, companions and leaders in my mission )President and Hermana Gwilliam= who have completely changes my heart. GO JOSE!

Monday

We had interviews with President. It may have been the chillest interview ive ever had. Usually I just sit there and sob because one, because its the only time we get to just unload and two because he just reminds me so much of 2swegs and I miss my dad. But this interview, we just sat and talked and joked around and it was really nice. President is a really good guy, he just knows whats up. He also told me that he had kept Cutler and I together because he has a special spirit of unity between us that a lot of companionships dont have. I feel it too. I can easily say that this has been the highlight of my mission. My vision of the mission has changed completely. I am here because God commanded me but I choose to stay because I love Him. Its weird but I honestly wake up really happy and excited to see what He has in store for us. Before, I would dread leaving the house. I was so scared to speak spanish. It was so hard to just LOVE the mission for me. I had always liked it and enjoyed it but its been a really hard thing. Im really hard hard on myself here and its hard when you dont have the people from back home in your presence to lift you back up. But being away from my family has helped me to lean on my Heavenly Father. And He really has been there for me!I feel like He has kind of carried me through this whole experience and continues to give me the energy to keep going. BUT I was telling Cutler today that I cant quite put my finger on it but i really LOVE the mission right now. I wake up really happy. Its the weirdest thing. I just love it and mi so thankful for this sweet of blessing of feeling at peace with everything.

Blessings on Blessings - October 15, 2018

To my mom, your welcome but to others IM SO SORRY because this is a really long letter but my heart is so full and thankful for all of the many miracles we witnessed this week!!!

I aspire to love everyone i come in contact with here in the same way that I love our recent convert Rodrigo. He is progressing tons. On thursday we went to visit him and he says to me, “Hermana Pulsipher, when are you going to leave?” “I dont know rodrigo, but im going to miss you.” “Me too.” It was such a tender moment. Being apart of his conversion and watching him grow was a life changer for me. Him and his brother Pablo are staying strong together but the adversary is latching on to his family. We really grew a close connection with his family and tried our hardest to help them all go down this path together but it not their time right now. Its really sad how worldly things hold people back from eternal blessings. But I am confident that through the obedience of Pablo and Rodrigo, their family will be blessed and will become an eternal family in the Lords timing! 

Andre is our investigator from New york. When we told him about General conferance and asked him if we could get together and watch it in their house he says, “So is this like a kind of superbowl thing? You guys gonna bring the nachos?” Classic. I have a culture shock every time I go to their house. Americans are SUPER different from chileans. Obviously.

Watching general conference was the HIGHLIGHT of my week! I loved the sweet message of Jesus Christ and that we can be spiritually and physically healed through the atonement! President Nelson was full of so much life and energy and once again a sweet spirit whispered to me that he is called of God and that everything he says is directly from Jesus Christ. 

As we were leaving conferance right after we had heard President Nelsons talk on the name of the church a man from the street yells at us, "Mormones!" and in unity Cutler and i yell back, “NO THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS!”

On our way back from the conferencia, Cutler tells me that she has a feeling we should go visit someone named Ilmari that we can never find. We had planned to visit Ricardo, a planned appointment and he was for sure in his house waiting for us. In my heart I agreed with Cutler but logically I wanted to stick to the plan we had made prior. With hesitance i agreed to Cutlers idea and when we got to Ilmari´s house, he opened the door to us instantly like he had been expecting us.)THIS NEVER HAPPENS! As we start talking he tells us that he had just gone to the open doors in Concepcion with his girlfriend, who is a member of the church, and had felt the spirit so strong there. He distanced himself from God a while ago because he felt that God had abandoned him. As we sat there and talked to him about being spiritually healed by the atonement of Jesus Christ, there was a really special spirit in that room. I knew that this is the Lord{s work, and if we listen to the still small voice of the spirit, we can find His lost sheep and then He will work the miracles. Sometimes we may have to change our plans but in the end Heavenly Father knows what He is doing, we just have to trust Him!   

WITHOUT A DOUBT THIS IS THE WORK OF THE LORD!!!! Cutler and I decided to only consecrate our thoughts and actions on the work today. No glancing over at the tv in the members houses during lunch. No thinking about the past or the future. And definitely no letting the songs in the street linger in our heads. It was really hard, like extremly. But we were determined to see miracles that day. First, we went to an old investigator that we can never get to because 6 street dogs always guard this house and they always end up chasing us out.  (its weird, but it has been a real trial in my mission). Well this day, we went and all of the dogs stood up and started surrounding us but we kept walking, saying a prayer outloud, they started to growl but we felt some serious protection from the Lord and we were able to get to the house!Next, we went to give visit a sister in our ward in the hospital and a lady that was standing in line in front of us turns around and starts to talk with us. She asks us who we are, what we do, and then begins to tell us she wants to tell us something but not inside they hospital. As we walk outside, she tells us that she has been praying for angels to come and help her son because now more than ever he needs the gospelin his life. LIKE WHAT__ This never happens guys. Then after as we were walking to the spanish class that we teach forthe haitains we stopped for a sopaipilla and met a men from Venezuela. Come to find out, he got here the same day i did in Chile and came without family. All of the money that he earns goes back to his family in Venezuela who are struggling tons over there. We invited him to the spanish class thinking no one would show up and we could just teach him english! But when we showed up to the church 5 haitians and a chilean were waiting outside the church for the class! (THIS NEVER HAPPENS) We usually have one show up if we are lucky! This time we taught the haitians with latinos and they totally connected!! It was a super fun class that night! To end of our miracle filled day we head over the the Rincon families house. The daughters and dad are baptized and the mom is getting baptized in the future, but we have specifically been focused on their uncle Jose. We have put baptisimal date after baptisimal date with this guy and all he says is, [Sisters, be patient with me.[ We talked about baptism, and at the end of the night we asked them to write a goal on a piece of paper that would help them progress towards baptism. When Jose passes us his paper, it said, "Baptism." We got so frustrated with him and said, "!No jose, you have to write a specific goal!" and he tells us, "No i want to get baptized. When can I?" Cutler and I couldnt contain our excitement. We had been praying for this moment for months. Jose is getting baptized next week...! My heart was so full that day. I know that if we fully consecrate ourselves Heavenly Father can and will open the heavens to bless us and the lives of others. SEEK HIM! You wont regret it.

LUNCH WITH BAE - October 3, 2018

This week we had lunch with a the family nunoz. They have an 8 year old boy that forbids to talk or look at me. He walked out to the table backwards today and ate his lunch facing the wall. He couldnt even be in the same room as me for 5 minutes and went off to finish his lunch in his room! Right as he runs away the mom whispers to me, “Hes in love with you.”Apparently this kid has a thing for blondes. The last time he saw a blonde missionary walk in the chapel he literally calapsed to the floor from thinking she was so cute! Bummer summer, hes a sweet kid. I would have given him a chance after the mish.

The other night we went to visit Catherine and Salome!!! I promised you all a picture of her and I am delivering. CUTEST BABY EVER (Nieces and nephews not included). As we were teaching Catherine, she flipped to the blank pages in the back of the Book of Mormon and started taking notes. I have never met anyone in my entire mission who loves and understands the gospel so clearly! Even when it is being taught to her by two gringas!

On our way to church this sunday we spotted Andre the New Yorker and Maria the Chilean making there way to church for their first time! Then walking into the chapel, we spotted a new haitian face, someone that our recent convert had invited! 10 minutes later Benny from malaysia shows up! Then Nicole, our investigator from Puerto Rico, then Catherine from Columbia! Last the Rincon family from Venezuela rolls in and we were beyond grateful. We definitely saw the hand of the Lord that morning, helping us bring little parts from all over the world to church that day! But the best was after when our rather serious Bishop walks up to us after the meeting, SMILES, and thanks us for something, and im not too sure what he said because I lost focus. I was just so happy that HE WAS HAPPY!

I have been thinking tons about Heavenly Father, His plan and how we play in to it! He likes to push us out of our comfort zones. Which is something my dad has always done. I remember countless occassions where I was afraid to do something and Gary still made me do it. I really did not like him in the moment, but lookiing back it has helped me to become a stronger person and when faced with decisions it was more clear what i should do. Heavenly Father does the same with us. I dont think he has a specific plan for us, but He has an overall plan, the plan of salvation. Sometimes we refer to specific choices we make as “The Lords Plan”for us. We say it is God's plan that we live a certain place, serve a mission, marry a certain person, have a certain number a children, choose a certain major, etc. I cant find anywhere in scripture where it talks in specifics like that- I wonder if the real issue is to follow the Lords plan of Salvation (Which includes commandments like marriage/family, fulfilling priesthood duties like serving a mission for a man, makiing covenants,etc.) and as we make specific decisions along the way the Lord will guide us to know that those choices are in line with His will and desires and they are keeping us on the path!

We are coming to an end of this change and Hermana Cutler and I are pretty nervous about what will happen next. She literally EMULATES the light of Jesus Christ and has completely changed the way I view the mission!
