On Christmas Eve, we caroled to members houses all day with the elders and then had dinner with a Venezuelan family.I told them I liked Beyonce, so their little girls pulled up videos of her performances. It was the best Christmas gift I could have asked for. We ended the night with Kareoke with these two members who are working in Chile and sending money back to their family in Venezuela because the polotics are super bad there. Their stories are way sad, but we made sure to show them a good time by completely embaressing ourselves in a kareoke battle.
Learning this language has definitely been a trial of my faith and patience with the Lord. Its sort of heart wrenching to not be able to communicate with investigators just how important this message is. But everyday I see tender mercies from my Heavenly Father nudging me along, showing me that if i have faith in Him I will be able to all things which are expedient in Him. (Moroni 10:23) I know that the Lord has so much in store for me, more than I could ever imagine, if I just do the small and simple things that are asked of me, great things will come my way. (Alma 37:6-7) Trust in Him, have faith in Him, allign your will with Gods and you will always be happy. I can feel His smile upon me every day and I am so thankful for this opportunity to serve Him.
In the words of Elder Alteridge, "Keep truckin for Jesus."
